Description

Like heaviness in the legs, burning sensations in the legs aren’t specific to venous disease. Most often, this sensation occurs when standing still, and around the area where varicose veins can be found, for example on the inside of the lower limb when the saphenous vein is diseased.

Treatment of the varicose vein is very likely to diminish this sensation.

Other causes

Nonetheless, other causes should be ruled out, like a skin infection of the leg (cellulitis), an allergy, a deep vein thrombosis, or simply a sunburn (solar erythema)!
